And the title of Britain’s best hotel chain goes to Sofitel.
The luxury arm of Novotel – with rooms costing £144 a night – topped the chart closely followed by Premier Inn, according to a survey by Which?.
Hotel firms judged in nine categories, including cleanliness, customer service, food, and value for money.
The top five chains also included Warner Leisure Hotels, Hampton by Hilton and Q Hotels.
Those that ranked poorly include Travelodge, Britannia Hotels and Old English Inns/Hotels.
Travelodge, one of Britain’s biggest hotel chains, with a room rate of around £44, had a customer score of 60 per cent.
